Fastball

The Austin, Texas-based band Fastball prematurely kicked-off the 1998 summer song season when their undeniably catchy tune, "The Way," shot to Number One on Billboard's Modern Rock chart this spring. The Mexican-flavored hit appears on the band's Hollywood Records album All the Pain Money Can Buy, an impressive collection of power popcraft through and through. The trio, consisting of drummer Joey Shuffield, bassist Tony Scalzo and guitarist Miles Zuniga, were featured in ASCAP's 1996 South by Southwest Showcase in Austin. This summer they are on tour with Everclear and will be featured at more than 15 of the H.O.R.D.E. Festival shows.
